Chris grew up in a military family and Christian household but didn’t begin his walk with Christ until college. He became involved in the College Ministry at Christ United Methodist in Mobile, AL and went with the College Ministry on his first trip to Casa in 2006. That trip is when he said he started to hear God’s calling for his life.
Over the next few years, Chris continued to struggle through college trying to decide on a major and overall direction for his life. After graduating college with a degree in Business Management he landed a great job working for one of the leading Medical Companies in Oklahoma City. He bought a house and began to put down roots. During this whole time he faithfully returned to Casa with the College Ministry every summer and even led his own teams from Oklahoma in 2008 and 2009.
All this time, God was reminding him of the calling he felt for first time in 2006.
Finally through many tears during his summer trip to Casa in 2009 and after God had closed some doors and opened some others, he could deny the calling no longer and informed the Casa staff that he would like to make a long term commitment to serve at Casa. In February of 2010 Chris answered God’s calling and arrived as a full-time member of the Casa staff.
He says, "God never gave up on me. He just kept nudging me until I believed in myself as He believes in me, but he wanted me take first step."
