I spent most of the day buying books & continuing to pay March tuitions. It appears that the adoption for Calixto will indeed happen with only 2 weeks before his 16th birthday which is the cut off age.
The service with Dottie next Thursday at Glad Tidings was cancelled as the pastor's wife is having surgery. My truck not only threw the timing belt but it destroyed 4 valves.
In the garden of Eden there was sufficient fruit for them to eat. Adam and Eve did not experience hunger pains. They had tremendous freedom in the garden. Just one rule to not eat of one tree. But when man is told "Do not touch" they will inevitably touch it. I know you have seen the Wet Paint" sign and put your finger there just to see if it were true. Maybe you have seen the "Do not walk on the grass" sign and surely put your toes right there.
Paint and grass are not deadly but we, like Adam and Eve, can lose everything by reaching for something that God has said is not ours.
The story of King David is another example. He had every woman he desired and yet he reached for one that could not be his.
Just like Adam and Eve David did not believe that God's warning was so serious. We are the same aren't we? God tells us how to live but we think we can do what we want and not get punished. Yet, in Adam's case, his sin transformed the world. Romans 5:12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned".
Our actions may not change the world as Adam did but our actions will definitely affect those in our world.
