Yesterday I took Roxanne, the 11 year old who ran away, to town with me as I had to buy school supplies, text books, pick up Melvin's graduation ring and other errands. We ate at MacDonalds and we talked for over an hour. She has never had a visit from one family member in the many years she has lived here. She is hurting and feeling that rejection & sense of abandonment. If you ever wondered why we need more staff it is precisely this type of need. We just do not have sufficient people to be able to go and spend one-on-one time with individual kids who are desperate for it.
Dottie and I leave this afternoon and arrive in Washington DC at 11:30pm. Sunday we will be at Purciville Baptist Church in Purcellville Virginia located at 17333 Pickwick Drive in case you happen to be passing through.
Yesterday we received two girls, unrelated, ages 12, Jeny, and 2, Rosemery. We also heard from the courts that the Human Rights organization filed an injunction to keep the 40 Indian children scheduled to come here from leaving their village because it will affect their culture. How sad for those kids.
The baby who had the operation Sunday is fine and has returned to the baby dorm.
