It is nearly 3 pm and we are back at home, unpacked and happy. It was an awesome weekend with us meeting so many wonderful, loving missionaries. I was humbled to have been the keynote speaker when I was surrounded by so many Godly people. There were missionaries from the county, Washington DC, Los Angelos, Paris, Egypt, Tibet, New Guinea, Africa, Ireland, Indonesia, Campus Crusade & Ambassadors for Christ. It was totally awesome and marvelous to ehar their testimonies and see their hearts.
The weekend began on an excctiing note as we arrived into DC at 10:30PM and Peter thought we were coming in Saturday at that time but A.M. So we waited until midnight and I called Debbie to call information in Purcellville, Va for his number and then woke his wife who has a broken foot and I felt so bad. It was too far to come get us so we decided to stay at the hotel but had to walk there arriving at 1:30 AM. Ask me if it was difficult to sleep. We were like two infants.
Saturday was so busy and so blessed. Peter and Mike took us to a horse farm next to a llama farm where we stayed in a cottage built in 1790. Paul and Pam were so kind to have us. Then we were picked up by Lynn who is "the shopper" (you know all churches ahve one) and we went to the Christian book store, Walmarts and targets before we had the evening barbecue and listened to the missionaries.
Sunday morning each missionary gave a 2 minute testimony and then I preached at the two services. We had a nice meal at Mike's and then Peter, Dillan and Debbie took us to the airport where we stayed the night.
This morning we waited 2 hours in line. The plane left 1 1/2 hours late but we arrived and Gino picked us up. It was truly a wonderful weekend.
