The five boys who will be the first in the transition home will be Freddy, Carlos I, Salatiel, Denis and Roberto. I trust some of you are praying as to what your part can be in helping to get it off the ground.
Our daughter, Crissy, arrived and she will be the Maid of Honor for Candida.
Today we took 97 Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade students to the Children’s Museum as the guest of Patricia Arzu, former first lady of Guatemala and now her husband is mayor of Guatemala City. She even brought gifts for each of the 97 kids.
It is nearly 6pm Wednesday and I just spoke with Antonis physician. Their medical teams met today and they decided that waiting on a transplant is futile. So they are asking for potential donors and we will begin with our 18 year olds who are willing to donate their kidneys and work off that list. If none are compatible we ill look at a cadaver transplant which here would not be a high success rate surgery. Pray as we move forward. (The visitors and all the children prayed for him in services tonight).
As I was speaking with the doctor I was getting anxious because we originally were told that a transplant would not be feasible as he was small and so weak until 8 or 9 years of age. I felt my peace waning! People look for peace in their highballs or drugs or bar hopping or in money or dozens of other crutches. Our mental institutions are filled with people seeking peace.
There is only one peace that will get the job done. Jesus gives us His peace when He comes to dwell within our hearts. Peace is more than a freedom from hostility. It is not a temporary truce in relationships. How many wars had peace treaties and yet another war broke out again? There has never been a war to end all wars as has been published so many times throughout history.
Simply stated “The peace of God rests upon us when we accept forgiveness at the feet of Jesus”. Isaiah 26 tells me that peace comes when my mind is stayed upon Jesus. There it is! A mind that refuses to dwell on the ugliness around us is the way to peace. Just look to Him! I must admit to you that fear rose in me when I spoke with the doctor. There was something comforting when I was told the surgery would be when he was 8 or 9. Now it is staring me in my face.
Lord grant me peace!
